Sheep, angora rabbits, miniature donkeys, horses, spinning wheels, knitting needles and crochet hooks.....these are a few of my favorite things! My flock of purebred Border Leicester sheep, on old English longwool breed, and my angora rabbits keep my fiber stash pretty full. This allows me a chance to explore the creative side of life with my dyepot and spinning wheel. The results are yarns that are promised to be one of a kind. My yarns are spun in my traditional log house tucked in the woods of our Minnesota farmstead. The exact location of my spinning wheel varies, moving nearer or farther from the woodstove as the seasons change. No matter where I am, my menagerie of outdoor animals are usually within view. The inside of the log barn here looks much like a Nativity scene, inspiring me to name my line of yarns, "Away in a Manger." As you use my yarns perhaps you may reflect on a peaceful time and place a bit like when the animals gathered around the baby Jesus so long ago. |
